Nga mihi o te Tau Hou (Happy New Year!) whanau!

Welcome to 2023! The year is well underway, it’s Pepuere (February) already and Te Whare Tūmanako (Hope Centre) is back in action after a welcome break over Kirihimete. Our big news is that we have moved premises! After more than four years in Albion Place, Te Whare Tūmanako has taken the big step to move into bigger premises, enabling us to provide more peer support to people in mental distress. Below you will see an invite to our grand re-opening event on Wednesday 15 February. All are welcome! Applications for our 2023 volunteer peer supporter intake have closed and training will take place in early March. We’re looking forward to a new crop of volunteers to strengthen our mahi. We have many people to thank for supporting Te Whare Tūmanako through our move and we’ve tried to do that in this pānui.

We have lots of plans for this year and will be providing more updates in our future pānui (newsletters). We hope to see you all on 15February at our opening which includes a whakawātea (blessing) and an official ribbon-cutting by Mayor Jules Radich.
