Introduction
Dunedin can be battered by the wintry gifts our icy Antarctic neighbour sends. Equally, the calms between the storms are beautiful - still, sunny days where we can sit in the sun in a singlet.
It's like life. Storms come and they go.
But we must weather those storms. Each of us have our tricks but for many of us, feeling the care of others and for ourselves is a big part of it. Giving care to others is also a big part of being human and has the bonus of boosting wellbeing. Studies show that doing acts of kindness for others activates brain regions associated with reward and pleasure.
Keeping connected can also keep our hearts warm over these winter months. Visit us at the Hope Centre or follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for more regular updates. You can also check out our award-winning podcast for more insightful kōrero.
Whatever your way, may your winter be a good one.
